MWUN, SSASCGOC Leadership Visit Lekki Freeport Terminal Management
The President General of the Maritime Worker’s Union of Nigeria ( MWUN), under the leadership of Comrade Francis Bunu Abi and the National President of the Senior Staff Association of Statutory Corporations and Government Owned Companies (SSASCGOC ), Comrade Akin Bodunde, paid a courtesy visit to the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lekki Freeport Terminal , Capt Jedrzej Mierzewski.
These Union leaders, upon arrival at the terminal, were received by Mr Emmanuel Anda Port Manager Lekki Port and Dr Fubara Awanta GM Govt Relations & Security Lekki Freeport Terminal.
The Lekki Freeport Terminal CEO welcomed the Parent Union and requested collaboration with the Union in the following areas, retraining the workforce to enable the sustainability of operational productivity in the terminal.
The PG MWUN and the National President of SSASCGOC assured Lekki Freeport Terminal of the commitment of the staff to work. However, their welfare shouldn’t be compromised.
The PG reiterated the timely start-up of the reviewed CBA discussions between MWUN/ SSASCGOC on LFT.
Lekki Freeport Terminal is a business entity in the CMA- CGM Group.
LFT is currently the only container terminal operator with a 45-year sub-concession agreement from Lekki Port, situated at the Lagos Free Zone.
