Panic In Yenagoa As Deputy Governor, Ewhrudjakpo Slumps At Work
Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Yenagoa on Thursday after he reportedly collapsed while working in his office.
According to sources in Government House, the incident happened suddenly, causing panic among staff who immediately called for medical help.
He was quickly taken to the hospital in an official vehicle, accompanied by security personnel and senior aides.
On arrival at FMC, security operatives sealed off the area to control movement and ensure his safety. Several top government officials, including commissioners and advisers, also visited the hospital to show support and monitor the situation.
Efforts to get with the deputy governor’s media aide, Mr. Doubara Atasi, were not successful, as he did not respond to calls or messages.
Despite the silence from his media team, a senior member of the hospital management confirmed that the deputy governor is receiving adequate medical attention.
According to the source, doctors have stabilised his condition after carrying out further tests to determine what caused the collapse.
As at the time of filing this report, the Bayelsa State Government had not yet issued an official statement, leaving many residents anxious and waiting for updates on the deputy governor’s health.
