2026: Adegoke Joins Osun Guber Race
-Promises Economic Revival, Transparent Governance for Osun
Legal luminary , Barrister Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), on Monday, declared his intention to contest for the 2026 Governorship Election in Osun state under the platform of All progressives Congress (APC), vowing to serve with total loyalty and make Osun State great forever.
The legal practitioner and a seasoned politician who made his intention known while addressing party leaders and supporters at the party secretarial in Osogbo noted that his vision for the State is to build a State where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive, where innovation is celebrated, where public service is efficient, and where the rich cultural heritage is preserved and promoted.
He opined that if given the privilege to serve, his administration will be built on four core pillars which include
Economic Revival and Job Creation, Educational and Health Sectors, Security and Good Governance, and Infrastructural Development.
While Speaking on Economic Revival and job creation, he said, “We will create a conducive environment for local and foreign investors, focusing on key sectors like agriculture, mining, industrialization and tourism. We will provide soft loans and grants for our small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and empower our youth with skills relevant to the 21st-century economy. My goal is to reduce unemployment and make Osun a hub of economic activity in the Southwest.”
“To this end, we shall embark on Agricultural Revolution. Osun is an agricultural state, and we will unlock its full potentials. We will revive the tradition of farm settlements and support our farmers with modern farming techniques, access to improved seedlings, and a guaranteed market for their produce. We will establish food processing hubs to add value to our agricultural products, creating wealth for our farmers and food security for our State.”
On Educational and Health Sectors Transformation, “We will prioritize the welfare of our teachers, healthcare workers and people in general. We will invest in modernizing our schools and hospitals, ensuring that every child has access to quality education and every citizen receives affordable and effective healthcare. We will equip our institutions with the resources they need to produce a generation of scientific innovators and leaders.”
Speaking further on Infrastructural Development , the APC Gubernatorial Aspirant noted that he will embark on a comprehensive program of infrastructural and urban renewal, putting in place lasting and motorable roads, providing clean water to our communities, and ensuring that our towns and cities are well-lit and secure. We will leverage technology to improve urban planning and public transportation.
The Aspirant who also spoke on Security and Good Governance affirmed that the safety and security of the people will be his highest priority.
Adegoke promised to work closely with security agencies and communities to ensure that the State remains a haven of peace.
On governance, he remarked, “my administration will be open, transparent, and accountable. We will fight corruption and ensure that public funds are used for the benefit of the people, not a privileged few.”
While Speaking further he stressed that “this is not a journey I can take alone. I need your support. I need your belief. I need your hands, your minds, and your voices. I am a servant with a calling to make a difference. I offer you a platform of ideas, a record of integrity, and a promise of dedicated service.”
The governorship hopeful, who described himself as “a servant with a calling to make a difference,” stressed that his vision is to make Osun “a model of good governance, economic prosperity, and social justice.”
“Let us join hands and build an Osun where every child can dream, every young person can find a job, and every elder can live in dignity,” he urged.
Adegoke, known for his legal career and advocacy for reforms, said his campaign will be rooted in integrity, openness, and the belief that the state’s abundant human and natural resources can be transformed into lasting prosperity.
