President Tinubu Hails Re-election Of Governor Soludo
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Professor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election as governor of Anambra State, describing the victory as a strong affirmation of his visionary leadership and service to the people.
The incumbent governor dominated the race, winning in all 21 local government areas of the state. Announcing the results at the collation centre in Awka on Sunday, the returning officer, Edoma Omoregie, declared Soludo the winner after he garnered 422,664 votes. His closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu, came a distant second with 99,445 votes.
In a statement issued on Sunday, President Tinubu commended the people of Anambra State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies for ensuring the peaceful and credible conduct of the election, which saw Soludo secure a second term in office.
“The overwhelming victory recorded by Governor Soludo makes him the third governor in Anambra’s political history to win a second term,” the President noted, adding that the result reflected the trust and confidence of the people in Soludo’s leadership.
Tinubu praised the Anambra governor — fondly called Mr Solution — for applying knowledge, accountability, and transparency in governance, and for steering the state toward meaningful progress.
“Governor Soludo has brought discipline, grace, brilliance, and a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra. Under his watch, the state continues to live up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” the President said.
He recalled his visit to the state in May 2025, where he inaugurated several projects executed by the Soludo administration, describing them as products of “good thinking and impactful leadership.”
President Tinubu also urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to extend a hand of cooperation to his opponents.
