Breaking: Soludo Wins Anambra Governorship Election By Landslide
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has won the Anambra governorship election by a landslide, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
INEC’s Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie declared Soludo winner of the election, having polled majority votes and satisfied the requirement of the law.
According to results announced by INEC, from the 21 local governments, APGA secured 422, 664 votes, leaving its closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC), far behind with APC, 99445 votes.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) came fifth with 8,208 and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recording a dismal 1,401 votes to come sixth.
A breakdown of the results shows that Soludo dominated across the state’s three senatorial districts. In Soludo’s home area, Aguata Local Government, APGA recorded a landslide 35,559 votes, followed by APC’s 4,125 and YPP’s 2,746. Orumba South and Orumba North also went to APGA with 19,818 and 24,664 votes respectively, leaving APC far behind with 2,828 and 2,615 votes.
In Oyi Local Government, APGA scored 18,882 votes, APC 5,118, and LP 3,641, while Anambra East gave APGA 14,665 votes, with APC trailing at 3,108 and YPP polling 6,153. Anyamelum followed the same pattern with APGA at 13,340 votes against APC’s 7,478.

Ogbaru: APGA – 22,803; APC – 3,768

From the figures, APGA’s lead is consistent and overwhelming, with Soludo winning by wide margins in every LGA announced. In some areas, such as Idemili North and Nnewi North, the gap between APGA and APC exceeded 20,000 votes. Even in LGAs where the APC showed some strength, like Nnewi South and Anyamelum, Soludo maintained a comfortable advantage.
The outcome reflects a strong endorsement of Soludo’s administration and the continuing influence of APGA in Anambra politics. Since taking office, Soludo has focused on infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, and local economic development, which appear to have resonated with voters across the state.
