Prioritise Your Health; Foundation Founder Harps On Good Health As Fundamental Basis For Success

The Founder of Victory Support Foundation, Ambassador Olubunmi Olufunmilayo Lawal, has emphasized the importance of good health as a fundamental basis for success, urging Osun residents to prioritize regular medical checkups and healthy living.

Lawal stated this on Friday during a free medical outreach organized by VSF in collaboration with the Southwest Progressive Group, held at the Modakeke Town Hall.

According to her, Good health is widely considered a fundamental basis for success because it provides the essential energy, mental clarity, and resilience needed to pursue and achieve goals effectively. Prioritizing well-being is not a distraction from success but rather an investment in it, leading to improved productivity and long-term, she said

The exercise featured eye examinations, drug distribution, and the provision of medicated glasses to residents.

Speaking at the event, Lawal said many people neglect their health in pursuit of daily survival, often leading to avoidable ailments.

“There is no success in life without proper health. People work so hard but forget to care for their bodies, and that’s why many young people today are struggling with health issues,” she said.

She urged participants to adhere strictly to doctors’ advice and use prescribed drugs as directed.

The outreach, organized in partnership with the Southwest Progressive Group, has been ongoing across several local governments in Osun State, offering free medical consultations and treatments to underserved communities.

Lawal, who described health as wealth, linked the initiative to her foundation’s broader mission of improving community welfare and supporting developmental leadership in the state.

“If people are sick, they can’t run their businesses or take care of their families. That’s why we must make health a priority,” she added.

Also speaking, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of Media and Information in Osun State, commended the outreach for reflecting the party’s people-centered philosophy.

“I’m not surprised because the APC is a party that prioritizes the welfare of the people, and this programme clearly reflects that,” he said, while encouraging residents of Modakeke to support the party in the forthcoming election.

A councillor, Hon. Adewumi Adekunle Julius, representing Modakeke Ward 3, expressed joy over the large turnout and the impact of the initiative.

“You can see the happiness on their faces. Many of these people have health challenges but lack the means to buy drugs. This outreach has given them hope,” he said.

Former Special Adviser for Innovation and Technology to ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Karim Ismail Akande, described the medical outreach as a model for responsive governance.

“This shows the kind of leadership Osun needs, one that prioritizes the health and well-being of the people,” Akande said.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Ogunsola Bright, who received treatment for her sight problem, expressed gratitude to the organizers.

“I’ve been struggling with my eyesight for a long time. I’m so grateful to the foundation for helping me today,” she said.
