Hotelier Assassinated In Akure

Men of the Ondo State Police Command are currently investigating the killers of a popular socialite and Chief Executive Officer of Klass Five Hotel, Adesoji Johnson Adeleye, in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

According to reports, he was said to have been assassinated in the early hours of Tuesday at his hotel located in the Arakale area of Akure.

Sources revealed that Adeleye had slept in a room in his hotel but was later found stabbed multiple times by unknown assailants.

The source disclosed that the attackers gained entry into his hotel room and attacked him without the knowledge of others in the hotel.

One of his close associates said they had hung out on Monday night before parting ways, with plans to meet again on Tuesday.

He added that they had been friends for many years.

When the incident was reported to the police, a source said detectives from the State Police Command visited the scene. The remains of the victim were taken by the police and deposited at the morgue of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Akure.

The spokesman of the State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident.

He disclosed that the police are on the trail of the perpetrators.

According to him, “We have sent a team of detectives to the scene and we are on the trail of the perpetrators. As soon as we apprehend them, they will be brought to book.”

“The case has been transferred to the State Police Headquarters for discreet investigation, with a promise to bring the perpetrators of the killing to justice.”
