Decomposed Body Found In Car Outside National Assembly
A decomposed body was discovered inside a car parked outside the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, sending shockwaves through the area and raising questions about how the incident went unnoticed for days.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, citing multiple sources, confirmed that the deceased has been identified as Gaddafi Iwar, a 55-year-old labourer who was reportedly working at a construction site within the National Assembly premises before his death.
Sources told Makama that the body was found in a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF at around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 7. The car had reportedly remained in the same spot for an extended period prior to the discovery.
According to the sources, “the body was evacuated to the National Assembly Clinic for medical confirmation and later conveyed to Asokoro General Hospital, but was rejected due to advanced decomposition.”
Another source added, “The Tiv community and youth leaders eventually took the body to Gbawu Village, a border town between AMAC and Kuje Area Council, for burial to prevent a health hazard.”
The incident has sparked concerns about security and health risks within the National Assembly, where vehicles and individuals typically undergo strict checks before gaining access.
