Tinubu Appoints Oyetola’s Ally As RMAFC Commissioner
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transmitted letter to the Senate, requesting the confirmation of nominees for key federal appointments in the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The letter were read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary on Tuesday, as required by the constitutional and statutory provisions governing federal appointments.
The letter, dated September 1st, 2025, President Tinubu, acting in line with Section 154 (1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), requested the Senate to confirm five nominees as Commissioners Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The President “expressed confidence in the competence of the nominees” and urged the Senate to give the request “expeditious consideration. The nominees are:
Abubakar Wamako Bello (Sokoto State)
Gboyega Oladele (Osun State)
Sen. Marafa Bashir Abba (Taraba)
Hadizatu Uwani Mustapha (Borno)
Ahmed Waziri Hassan (Adamawa)
Bob Helen Inafa (Bayelsa)
The President again urged the Senate to consider and confirm the nominees in the “usual expeditious manner.” This request was referred to the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs.
