Okonjo-Iweala Reacts As Two Ghanaian Ministers Die In Helicopter Crash
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, WTO, has extended her condolences to Ghana President John Mahama over the deaths of his key cabinet members in a tragic helicopter crash.
The Minister of Defence, Edward Kofi Boamah, and the Minister of Environment, Science & Technology, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad, lost their lives in the accident.
Apart from Boamah and Muhammad, there were six other people on the chopper, which crashed in the central Ashanti Region.
The Z9 helicopter was conveying the passengers from Accra to Obuasi for an event.
Okonjo-Iweala wrote on X: “My deepest condolences to HE President John Dramani Mahama @JDMahama, the bereaved families and the people of Ghana for the tragic loss of the Hon. Min. of Defence Dr Edward Kofi Boamah and the Hon. Min. of Environment, Science and Technology Dr Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad and six others in a terrible helicopter crash.
“May their souls rest in perfect peace.”
