President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola, the former first lady of Lagos State, on her 60th birthday, celebrated on April 6.

Dame Fashola, wife of Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), former Governor of Lagos State and ex-minister of Works and Housing, is widely recognised for her significant contributions in education management and her passionate advocacy for health and socio-economic issues.

In his message, President Tinubu acknowledged Dame Fashola’s profound impact in raising public awareness, particularly in the areas of children’s and women’s health.

He also highlighted her tireless efforts to drive sensitisation campaigns on these crucial issues.

“Dame Fashola is devoted to her family, seeing it as a priority and a haven for growth and development. Her marriage, characterised by religious tolerance—she is a devout Christian and her husband a Muslim—is a powerful example of unity and understanding, crucial elements in nation-building,” President Tinubu stated.

The President further expressed his deep appreciation for Dame Fashola’s unwavering dedication to the people of Lagos, especially her leadership role within the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO). Her initiatives have included the establishment of recreation centres and her advocacy for the screening and treatment of women with breast and cervical cancers.

President Tinubu wished Dame Fashola continued health, happiness, and well-being, celebrating her extraordinary contributions to Lagos State and beyond.
