Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Mr. Sunday Dare, has called on Nigerian youths to seize the numerous opportunities provided by the present administration to develop themselves and contribute to national growth.

Dare made the charge while addressing over 24,000 young people at the Arise Congress 2.0, themed “The Emergence of Champions,” held at the Baptist International Convention Centre, Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The four-day congress runs from Wednesday, September 3, to Saturday, September 6, 2025.

In his keynote address, Dare who also serves as Chairman of the Youth and Student Ministries Advisory Board of the Nigerian Baptist Convention described Nigerian youths as “the champions of President Tinubu’s administration.” He stressed that the President has rolled out several initiatives designed to help young Nigerians maximize their faith, talent, and skills to achieve excellence.

The former minister highlighted the values of character, discipline, determination, and self-motivation as critical to success. He clarified that his message was not political but a call for young people to embrace the opportunities currently available under the administration and use them to make meaningful impact in their communities.

Dare outlined some of the government’s youth-centered initiatives, including NELFUND Tuition Loans and Stipends benefiting over 600,000 students nationwide; Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer, targeting three million vulnerable households with affordable housing support; and Food Security and Poverty Alleviation Measures, which led to the release of thousands of metric tons of grains from federal reserves and emergency nutrition support in several states.

He urged youths to have faith in the administration and position themselves to take advantage of these interventions.

Other dignitaries present at the event included Rev. Israel Adelani Akanji, FAR (Convener and President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention); Rev. S. Olawuyi James (Host and Director of Youth and Student Ministries); Rev. Israel Kristilere (Chairman of the Central Planning Committee); Rev. Michael Onyegbu; Pastor Fela Durotoye; and CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Commissioner of Police, Ogun State.
