Bobrisky Drops ‘Idris’, Adopts New Name
Nigeria’s popular and controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky, has stirred fresh online reactions after publicly announcing a complete name change on social media.
The internet star, born Idris Okuneye, declared that he should no longer be addressed as “Idris,” but as Afolashade Amope Okuneye, a name he says reflects his full feminine identity.
“My new name is Afolashade Amope Okuneye,” Bobrisky posted on his verified Instagram account.
Instagram user @wezma01 commented, “Werey nie seh Idris!,” while @officialomoborty humorously asked, “WHO rechristened you? Ojo wo ni ikomo bayi? ”
Another user, @am_djshegzzeey, chimed in calling Bobrisky “Mummy of Lagos,” in reference to his self-proclaimed title.
Some hailed the name, with @morenikejialayo playfully saying, “Aunt Amope mi should I send my account?” while @classicbukolami wrote, “Welcome anty Folasade .”
