Your Endorsements For 2nd Term, Mere Cosmetic- Osun APC Blasts Adeleke
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned the state Governor Ademola Adeleke that no amount of endorsements would prevent him from being chased out of the Bola Ige House through the legitimate votes of the people of the state who have seen the need for his imminent replacement by way of the 2026 governorship election.
It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke received copious of reelection endorsements from different personalities at the new year interdenominational prayer service held at the state Government Secretariat, Abere, Osun State, on Thursday being the first working day in the new year.
Reacting, Osun APC in a statement by its Director of Media and Information,
Chief Kola Olabisi, said it was discovered that Governor Adeleke and his co-travellers have become intoxicated with the gale of the endorsements for his reelection for the second term through the 2026 governorship election.
Olabisi further said: “There is no special reason under the sun for Governor Adeleke to roll out the drums over the endorsements for his reelection as political history has reminded discerning minds that such endorsements did not confer any special advantage on any holder of a public office in the past.
“One of the reasons why the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-produced governor should not be carried away by the endorsements is because there is no where in history where the nine fingers of a political office holder are counted in his presence.
“Based on the brazen infractions that have become the hallmark of his administration, Governor Adeleke knows in his inner mind that he does not, in any way, merit the extension of his tenure beyond 2026 as the right-thinking members of the society who have been monitoring his actions and inactions are sufficiently convinced that the current administration has not added any acceptable value to the status of the state beyond its driver strangely dancing where he is supposed to display indepth knowledge and tact.
“Has Governor Adeleke forgotten that a certain President of Nigeria failed woefully to secure reelection bid despite the fact that he procured royal endorsements of nearly all the traditional rulers in the State of the Virtuous in some years ago?
“Some of the patent reasons why Governor Adeleke is not worthy of being entrusted with another term are legendary and are known by those who are endowed with political hindsight.
“For instance, Adeleke should give two hundred and one reasons why his administration which could not employ a single teacher in the public schools across the state in over two years of his government should be made to stage a come back?
“The state helmsman should adduce reasonable reasons for sacking the 1,500 teachers and several thousands of the different categories of the health workers who were indigenes of the state duly employed by his predecessor immediately his administration was inaugurated.
“It is antithetical to the development of the state that while some neighbouring states are employing teachers, our own has been unable to employ one single teacher over two years into the life of this administration which dangerously puts the future of the youths into uncertainty and jeopardy; the effect of which would be felt in the state in another five to ten years’ time.
“Governor Adeleke should be bold enough to explain to the good people of the state why about less than two years into the end of his inglorious government, all the primary, secondary and tertiary government health institutions in the state have remained mere consulting clinics without drugs and qualified manpower?
“If Governor Adeleke and his co-travellers have forgotten, it is fresh and evergreen in the minds of the discerning members of the people of the state how the chief driver of the administration made it his campaign promise to declare a state of emergency in the education sector in the state.
“Alas! Going into the glaringly imminent termination of his tumultuous administration, Governor Adeleke has outlandishly and infamously prioritized haphazardly uncompleted construction of needless flyovers in some towns in the state for obvious reasons which could be pecuniary rewards.
“Governor Adeleke should tell the whole world why a government that could hardly hold a successful state executive meeting in over two years where the members of the exco could robustly argue and deliberate on matters affecting the state should deserve another inglorious term of office?
“No amount of endorsements from any quarters could bring back a purposeless and rudderless administration which is deliberately wasting the scarce resources of the state to accommodate in hotels unproductive, pliable and robotic members of the state house of assembly due to lack of adequate planning when repairing the official quarters of the automated state lawmakers.
“The earlier it is known to Governor Adeleke that his continuous tenancy in the Bola Ige House is predicated on the statutory allowance by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the peace-loving people of the state are tired of a governor who will be digging the gutter when the metaphorical house is on fire, the better it will be for him and his co-travellers”
