BREAKING: Otti Meets Tinubu After Visit To Nnamdi Kanu In Sokoto Custodial Centre
President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday received Abia State Governor Alex Otti at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
This happens just days after the governor visited detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, at the Sokoto prison facility.
Otti’s visit to Kanu had been conducted alongside the separatist leader’s younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu; Abia State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN); and his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma. Officials of the Sokoto State Government were also present.
Otti has consistently maintained that resolving issues surrounding Kanu’s detention is a major priority for his administration. Speaking after the Sokoto visit, the governor reiterated that Abia State is pursuing a coordinated and lawful strategy to secure Kanu’s release.
“While Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is free to appeal his conviction, I’m happy to inform you that I have activated and will continue to work on the already agreed strategy until his freedom is secured,” Otti said through his media aide.
