Just In: Fire Razes Hotel In Ondo

An inferno has gutted a popular hotel in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, destroying property worth millions of naira.

The unfortunate incident, which occurred late Wedesday night, razed Samlove Hotel, located on Mayowa Street in Okitipupa.

An eyewitness who spoke with The Hope Metro via phone recounted that the fire broke out around 9pm and rapidly spread, consuming the entire hotel structure.

“The fire started around 9pm and engulfed the entire hotel building. As I’m speaking to you now, I still don’t know what caused the fire,” the eyewitness said.

Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin, told our correspondent that the inferno indeed occurred, but further details were still being awaited.
