Police Foil Bomb Explosion In Lagos
Police foiled bomb from exploding on Wednesday in Lagos State along Mobolaji bank Anthony, Ikeja.
It was learnt that the explosive material was dropped on the road by a young man who came out from an unregistered Toyota Corolla.
The boy was said to have left the scene immediately after he drop bomb on the road.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin in a statement said on Wednesday July 31, at about 4 pm an anti-bomb police officer reported at their office that while he was on his way home.
The Policeman said he saw the boy coming out from the Toyota Corolla Car park on the main road close to the gate of the mobile police barracks and carefully dropped a bag by the side of the Nigeria customs service federal operation unit and zoom off immediately.
He said: “Based on the report a team of anti-bomb squared quickly mobilise to the scene to identify the object and render it safe and it was discovered to be bomb and the area was quickly cordoned off and the bomb was render safe and taken to a safe distance for detonation without explosion.”
He added that, ” the residual of the bomb was collected for further investigation and the area is calm for motorist to ply.
