Heavy Security Personnel In Osogbo Ahead Of August 1 ‘Hunger Protests’
Ahead of the nationwide hunger protest slated for Thursday, August 1 2024, there was heavy presence of security personnel across Osogbo, Osun state capital on Wednesday.
The security operatives, consisting of men from the Nigerian Army and operatives of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), were seen patroling Osogbo metropolis in the early hour of Wednesday.
CityMirrorNews observed that the security convoy moved from Oke-fia to Olaiya and Old- Garage in Osogbo, causing a slow movement in the flow of motorists.
The security personnel however conducted themselves in a peaceful manner causing no panic or harassing the residents.
The protest is against the current government policies which the protesters believe have lead to increased poverty, hunger and hardship among Nigerians.
