160 Police Officers Promoted In Zamfara

The Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, Mohammed Dalijan, has officially announced the promotions of 160 officers to a new ranks within the state by the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).

Also, 84 Assistant Superintendents of Police II (ASP II) have been elevated to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP I). At the same time, 76 Inspectors have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).

Speaking to the newly promoted officers on Friday at the headquarters of the state police command, CP Dalijan emphasized that this promotion is part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing the morale and motivation of officers actively engaged in combating insecurity in the region.

He noted that this advancement serves not only as recognition of previous contributions but also as an encouragement for greater dedication in response to the persistent security challenges.

“You have to thank God for the elevation; this promotion is to change the way you do your things, the way you think, the way you plan and operate are all to change to reflect your new rank, to whom much is given, much is expected.

“We are going to give you new roles to play, which will reflect your new rank; you have to pray hard because there are a lot of expectations; we expect better performance and better crime-fighting strategies must be adopted in order for us to know that yes, you are wearing new ranks,” Dalijan said.

The Police Commissioner encouraged the recently promoted officers to intensify their commitment to combating the issue of banditry, emphasizing that their elevated positions entail greater responsibilities.
