Sister To Sister Worldwide Empowers Widows In Osun
A non governmental international organization, Sister to Sister Worldwide Empowering Women Across the World, has empowered over 45 widows from various locations in Osogbo, Osun State state capital.
CityMirrorNews reports that the empowerment program took place at Islaudeen Primary School, Kunfayakun Area, Osogbo, on Friday.
The Southwest Coordinator of the international organization, Chief Mrs Lawal Olubunmi Olufunmilayo, said the empowerment initiative aligns with the organization’s mission to enhance the quality of life of windows in urban and rural areas throughout the country.
Olufunmilayo who had earlier spoken to inspire the widows before she distributed breads to them said, the organization would continue to engage them ensure they live a quality life.
She highlighted the organization’s commitment to empowering widows through initiatives fostering self-sufficient, emotional well being, courage and inspire them to be self-reliant.
The Southwest Coordinator, Sister to Sister Worldwide Empowering Women Across the World said the international organization would continue to offer vocational training programmes that equip widows with new skills, enabling them to support themselves and their families.
She said: “I want to appreciate the God almighty for making the programme a successful one. I also want to appreciate our mama, The Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Sister to Sister Worldwide Empowering Women Across the World for always advocating for the well-being of women across the world”.
She further said: “We are here to give the little we have to the widows. Our mama used to call them “Jesus Sisters” . We bake bread and gave it to them so they too can benefit from the empowerment programmes our CEO is doing across the world. For now, 45 widows benefited from today’s empowerment and it’s going to be a continuous Programme
“We have been having meetings with them on a regular basis, but we deemed it fit to do this for them this afternoon so they too can benefit from our mama kind gesture. Our mama has taught us to be given to the needy from the little we have and we have never regret doing so because we get the reward of the little we are doing in multiple folds”.
She however, called on the well-to-do Nigerians to cultivate the spirit of giving back to the society through philanthropic gestures, saying there is no little they do that they would not be rewarded in multiple folds.
She also encouraged the beneficiaries to emulate the philanthropic gestures of Dr. Mary Idele, saying God almighty Knows the best way to reward every good doers .
Beneficiaries of the programme appreciated the Chief Executive Officer of Sister to Sister Worldwide Empowering Women Across World, Dr Mary Idele and the organization’s Southwest Coordinator, Chief Mrs Lawal Olufunmilayo for their good gesture just as they prayed God almighty to continue to bless them in all ramifications.
