Lecturer Ditches Pregnant Girlfriend For UK
A Nigerian woman has come forward to share her painful ordeal after being abandoned for the United Kingdom (UK) by her boyfriend, a lecturer at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, following a twin pregnancy.
The woman, who shared her story via her X handle using #dat_edogirl as username recounted how the lecturer, identified as Kola, left her after securing his visa to the UK, despite knowing she was pregnant with twins.
The woman detailed how their relationship began in mid-2019, and she fell deeply in love, believing they had a future together.
Kola, who expressed dissatisfaction with his lecturing job, frequently spoke of his plans to travel abroad for better opportunities.
In 2022, after his visa was approved, their relationship took a devastating turn when she discovered she was pregnant.
Upon informing Kola of the pregnancy, he insisted she terminate it, as he was not ready to be a father and was focused on his move abroad.
Despite his pressure, she chose to keep the pregnancy, later learning she was carrying twins.
Kola cut off all contact with her during the pregnancy, ignoring her messages and calls, leaving her to face the challenges of a difficult pregnancy and delivery alone.
After giving birth via Caesarean section, with one of the twins requiring oxygen due to complications, the woman struggled to cover hospital bills, relying on her family for financial support.
Despite reaching out to Kola and his family, she received no assistance, with his brother even blocking her after initially promising to intervene.
The situation worsened when she travelled to Ondo State with her mother and children to confront Kola’s family.
Kola refused to take responsibility, insulting her and her family during the confrontation.
Heartbroken and financially strained, she decided to go public with her story, appealing for help in raising her children.
“I am not interested in marrying Kola or having any relationship with him… I just want my kids taken care of,” she said in her emotional plea.
The woman’s story has sparked outrage online, with many offering support and calling for justice for her and her children.
