Police Apprehend Prince In Connection With Osun Politician’s Murder
In the wake of the tragic killing of Dr. Richard Okin in the Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, Prince Eniola Oyeyode finds himself in police custody.
Dr. Okin was fatally shot at 9:48 pm on Saturday following the 50th Coronation Anniversary celebrations of the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Oyeyode Oyesosin.
According to police reports, Oyeyode allegedly instructed his civilian guard, Hammed Abdul-Jelili, to test-fire a double-barrel gun into the air to assess its functionality.
However, instead of firing into the air, the guard reportedly aimed directly at Dr. Okin, resulting in his tragic demise. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Dr. Okin succumbed to his injuries.
Prince Eniola Oyeyode, the individual who purportedly issued the fatal command, has been apprehended and is currently under detention.
Yemisi Opalola, the police spokesperson for the state, confirmed that Commissioner of Police, Bzigu Kwazhi, has urged the public to remain calm as the authorities initiate a thorough investigation into the incident.
