Edo: FRSC Arrests 2147 for Violating Traffic Laws
The Edo State Sector Commander
of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Paul Okpe has disclosed that the corp has arrested 2,147 motorists for traffic violation in the state.
Okpe who disclosed this to our reporter, said the offenders were arrested in the month of January across the state.
According to him, the 2,147 offenders were arraigned in a Mobile Court and fine accordingly by the Court for various offences.
He explained that the offenders were arrested in New Benin, Olukun, Sapele Road, Tollgate, Auchi, Ekpoma and other areas across the state within the period the time under review.
Okpe listed the offence the violators were arrested and booked to include dangerous driving, overloading, route violation,over speeding, use of phone, seatbelt violation, driving without fire extinguisher among others
He however advised road users in the state to adhere traffic rules and regulations and maintained discipline while on the road to enable them arrive their destination safely.
