Persons With Disabilities Have Always Been Good Farmers In Osun- SA Disability Matters

-Debunks Rumour That PWDs Dont Have Capacity To Farm

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has been commended for the distribution of farm inputs to farmers and for counting Persons With Disabilities(PWDs) as part of the beneficiaries.

This is just as the PWDs in the State have stressed that they have always been good farmers and have contributed to the food sufficiency of the State as against the rumours going around that the farm inputs given to them is a waste.

They spoke through the Coordinator of PWDs Farmers Association, Hon. Olanrewaju Oladosu who aslo doubles as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters at the programme flagging off the distribution of farm inputs to farmers in the State.

Hon. Oladosu, stressed that the PWDs have always been involved in various kinds of agric ventures, saying over two thousand of them were given poultry birds with which they have been running their poultry farms successfully while some others were given fingerlings and their fish ponds are doing well too.

While commending Senator Ademola Adeleke for the gesture extended to them, Hon. Oladosu said the Governor has demonstrated that Persons With Disabilities are truly part of the stakeholders towards having a better and progressive society.

Hon. Oladosu who stated that PWDs have never had it so good under any previous government in the State, expressed delight at the honour and recognition given to his members by the present administration.

He then assured the Governor that the Persons With Disabilities who were among the beneficiaries will put the farm inputs received into good use and ensure the abundance of food in Osun State.

According to him, “Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has really put smiles on our faces in the circle of Persons with Disabilities, we are indeed very grateful and appreciative to the Governor for picking our members as beneficiaries”.

Sneaking on the move to distribute farm inputs and other farm equipments to farmers in the State, Hon. Oladosu said it will no doubt go a long way in boosting food production and improve commercial activities.

Items distributed include: Cassava stems, fertilizers, Spraying Machines, Chemicals among others.
