Outrage As Tinubu’s Aide Holds Lavish Wedding Amid Hunger Protest

Amid agitations for nationwide protests by Nigerians over the state of the country and biting economic hardship, the Senior Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Community Engagement North-East, Abdulhanid Yahaya, holds a lavish wedding ceremony on Saturday.

The wedding party, as seen on social media, will take place in Kano State.

According to a viral video seen on social media the groom (Yahaya) was seen arriving in the state with a retinue of exotic cars in his convoys.

This development has sparked outrage among Nigerians, who insisted that the protest scheduled for August 1–10, 2024, must be held at all costs.

The lavish wedding is seen as a symbol of the government’s disconnect from the struggles of ordinary Nigerians and has further fueled the anger and frustration that is driving the planned protest.

Here are some of the reactions below:

@Jagabaolu wrote: You wonder why Nigerians are angry, an SSA riding in an expensive convoy as if he owns a mega corporation that contributes 10% of our GDP!

These are the types of appointments that should be scrapped walahi! What value exactly does this individual bring to governance???

@Its ereko wrote: The amount of money I dey see for that convoy fit build factory wey go employ at least 5,000 northern youths

@KhadijaGarba19 wrote: Yet these people want us to continue been patient and the ones making the sacrifices and cutting down most of our peasantly expenditures…..☹

@UsmanZannah wrote: The public was asked to make sacrifices, yet this is a convoy of a mere SA to the president, not even a minister or a governor. This is very disappointing. Tinubu should call the attention of this boy to desist from this ostentatious lifestyle, especially during these difficult times for the masses.
