Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a former presidential aspirant and leader of the Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, has praised the outgoing Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi, for his dedication to fighting corruption and serving the nation.

“Yusuf Magaji Bichi served Nigeria in his capacity as the DSS DG to the best of his ability… his service to the people of this country would not be taken for granted,” Fadojoe said.

He also advised the incoming DSS DG to “exercise restraint and caution” and not be swayed by staff jubilation or political pressures. “Leaders are never seen as good if people are not directly benefiting from them… remember your service is to Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as people, and not to do the bidding of the political class.”

Fadojoe further cautioned the new DG to “stay out of politics” and not be used as an instrument for political persecution. “The institution knows its jurisdiction not to interfere in affairs outside their organization… peace, and security of our nation with intelligence gathering is the major obligation of the DSS.”

Addressing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Fadojoe said, “The president must always do so in fairness and in service to the nation, not just as a political appointment to those who will make the bids of the government, instead of the people.”

In conclusion, Fadojoe commended Bichi’s service and wished the country well, saying, “May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
