Tinubu To Reshuffle Cabinet, Pushes For Better Engagement
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has indicated his readiness to reshuffle his cabinet soon, possibly before October 1, 2024.
President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.
Speaking during the press conference at the State House in Abuja, Onanuga highlighted that Tinubu has urged his Ministers to be more active in communicating the achievements of their ministries to the public.
The President believes that despite significant progress made by his administration, Nigerians remain largely unaware due to the ministers’ reluctance to engage with the media.
Onanuga mentioned that Tinubu wants his team to counter the perception that the government is underperforming by showcasing what has been accomplished.
He stressed that ministers need to overcome their reluctance to appear on television, radio, and other media platforms to publicize their activities.
Tinubu’s call for better communication comes amid growing public scrutiny of his administration’s policies, with the President determined to ensure that the work done by his team is more visible to the Nigerian public.
Although no specific timeline was given for the reshuffle, the emphasis on transparency and improved media relations is seen as part of Tinubu’s broader strategy to enhance his government’s image and effectiveness.
