Osun State Ministry of Transportation has warned any group parading itself as the body in charge of Commercial drivers in the State to desist from such or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Sesan Oyedele and made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday.

The Commissioner through the statement warned the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers(NURTW) to desist from actions that could throw the State into chaos.

He stated further that the activities of Commercial Drivers in the state has been peaceful under the leadership of Comrade Wakil Nurudeen Alowonle of OSTMS.

The Commissioner therefore warned commuters in Osun State not to board any commercial vehicle without the inscription of OSTMS on the body at the motor park, noting that government values their security and it is only the OSTMS that that government can vouch for.

The statement reads, “How can a body that is not recognised by government be boasting that it will dislodge a seating government. Are they saying that they want to cause chaos in the State?.

“Osun State has been peaceful and moving forward under the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke, Commercial Drivers in the State have been under the control of the Osun State Transport Management System.

“I am using this medium to warn whichever group parading itself as the body in charge of Commercial drivers in the State to desist from it henceforth as the law will not take it likely with them”.
