Deposed Emirs: Court To Begin Hearing Of Applications July 2
Justice Amina Aliyu of a Kano State High Court yesterday fixed July 2 for the hearing of all pending applications by counsel for the parties in the case instituted by the Kano State Attorney General, Kano House of Assembly, and its Speaker against the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero.
The case seeks to perpetually restrain Bayero and four other deposed monarchs from parading themselves as Emirs.
They are Nasiru AdoBayero (Bichi) Dr Ibrahim Abubakar ll (Karaye), Alhaji Kabiru MuhammadInuwa (Rano) and Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim-Gaya (Gaya).
During the last proceedings, Justice Aliyu granted an ex parte order to serve all respondents with court processes through substituted means.
When the case resumed on Monday for the hearing of a motion on notice seeking an interlocutory injunction, Ibrahim Mukhtar, counsel for Bayero, filed counter affidavits with three processes.
