Tragedy As Newborn Baby Drowns In Kano

Tragedy struck in Kano State on Tuesday when a newborn baby was downed inside a well in Ruguzau, Takai Local Government Area of the state.

Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, Kano State Fire Service’s Public Relations Officer, who issued a statement confirming the incident said, ”We received an emergency call at about 02:14 p.m. from one Sabo Ladan that a baby’s body was found floating in a well.

“We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 02:18 p.m. On arrival our men found a newborn baby in the well,” he said.

According to him, the baby was pulled out of the well unconscious and later proved dead.

He, however, added that the incident is being investigated.
