Kudirat Kekere-Ekun Sworn-in As 23rd Chief Justice Of Nigeria
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun has been sworn in as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The event was held at the State House in Abuja.
Till her confirmation by the Senate, Kekere-Ekun will serve in an acting capacity.
Justice Kekere-Ekun assumed her new role following the retirement of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola and her nomination by the National Judicial Council (NJC).
Sworn in at 11:38 a.m., Justice Kekere-Ekun is Nigeria’s second female CJN, following Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar.
Key officials in attendance at the swearing-in included the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and former CJN, Justice Ariwoola.
