Ember Months: Osun Amotekun Commander, Omoyele Vows To Ensure Water Tight Security

The Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr Omoyele Isaac Adekunle, has vowed to clampdown on the activities of hoodlums and criminals as the year inches towards its end.

Adekunle made the pledge while parading seven suspects nabbed by the operatives of Amotekun for various crime offenses in the state.

According to him, the crimes committed by the suspects include stealing of unregistered Bajaj motorcycle without proof of evidence , obtaining money under false pretences , and dupping POS operators to withdrew large sum of money among others .

Among the arrested suspects, according to Adekunle was a fake bank Manager , Mrs Taiwo Badro (31), who was nabbed for allegedly defrauding her victims.

Other suspected criminals paraded are Musbau Ganiyu (28) , Rasheed Abdullahi (28) , Kayode Odesanmi (38) , Olalekan Mashood ( 37) ,Afeez Ayuba (27) , and Awal Adebayo (18).

Amotekun Corps Commander, said the fake bank manager had confessed to have been defrauding people especially in Lagos State before she find abode in Osun for her evil businesses.

Adekunle explained that his men were able to apprehend the suspect on Oct. 19 at about 2:45 pm after she defrauded one fatai saheed with the sum of about N4.5 million, and with thorough investigation and security intelligence ,she was arrested.

He said that other suspected criminals that were paraded had confessed to their various crimes and would be handed over to the appropriate authority for proper prosecution at the court of law.

The Amotekun commander reassured the public that his leadership would minimize crime and optimize resources available with the collaboration of other security agencies to help maintaining the peace and order especially in the ember months.

The Amotekun Corps Commander said that the corps would not relent in its efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.

He also said that, the Governor Ademola Adeleke’s led administration in Osun was resolute in its determination to ensure that investors, residents and commuters move freely in the state without apprehension of attacks by hoodlums.

Adekunle said: “We want to reassure the people of Osun State that Amotekun is intact in the entire state and we will continue our 24-hour patrol.

“We shall continue to track all criminals from the town to Forest reserves and ensure that travellers are not molested. “I am reassuring the general public that my leadership would minimize crime and optimize resources available, ensure collaboration with other security agencies and the public to maintain peace and order during this ember months all over Osun State” Osun Amotekun boss said.

The Osun Amotekun Commander who warned criminal minded people to stay away from Osun, said that he was determined to ensure swift responses to distress calls by residents of the state. He called on the people of Osun to always supply credible information to the Corps to ensure a crime free environment.
