He said Nigerian people are blessed and that God has harkened to their prayers and supplications, hence, there is need for all and sundry to anticipate positive turnaround and development of the country.

According to him, the church has been an instrument for change and development in Nigeria, urging leaders across all walks of life to be selfless in their actions and deeds.

The cleric further urged political leaders to listen to the cries of the masses by ensuring that measures to cushion the effect of hardship emanating from the removal of subsidy is urgently addressed.

Speaking at the event, the royal father of the day, Oba Pastor Adeyemi Adediran, Owamiran of Esa-Oke, said the only panacea for effective community development across the nation is for political office holders to always create rapport with the people at the grassroots.

Oba Adediran identified total neglect of grassroots as the major setback for the development of local communities, lamenting that local dwellers have not been receiving the dividends of democracy.

He pointed out that leadership is about taking care of those at the local communities, wondering why most Nigerian leaders have continued to fail in this direction.

“Our leaders must reach out to those in the grassroots for effective and fast development in local communities. Development should be taken to the people in rural communities and as such, political leaders should always interface with their people for development to thrive,” the traditional ruler opined.
