According to the statement, “The Northern Christian Young Professionals (NCYP) express deep appreciation for the successful rescue of the kidnapped sisters in Abuja, a positive development bringing relief to the girls’ family and the nation.

“We also appreciate the efforts of the police and all the security agencies involved in the rescue.

“While acknowledging this triumph, NCYP urges the government to prioritize the revitalization of forest guards as a crucial measure to prevent future kidnappings. The safety of our citizens remains paramount, and a robust forest guard system is pivotal in achieving this objective.

“Furthermore, we call upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expedite the process of actualizing the manifesto promise of revitalizing the forest guards by actively involving local communities. Employing locals in this effort not only addresses unemployment but also fosters a stronger connection between the guardians and the areas they protect.

“NCYP remains committed to advocating for the protection of our youth and ensuring a secure environment for all citizens. We anticipate a proactive response from the government in strengthening our defense mechanisms against such heinous acts.”
