#EdoDecides2024: APC Leads In Esan West, Owan West
The collation of results from the 2024 Edo State governorship election continues with early reports showing a competitive race between the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in key Local Government Areas.
In Esan West Local Government Area, the APC emerged with 12,952 votes, while the PDP secured 11,004 votes and the Labour Party (LP) trailed behind with 342 votes.
Similarly, in Owan West Local Government Area, APC garnered 12,277 votes, narrowly edging out the PDP, which earned 11,284 votes. The LP recorded 201 votes in the LGA.
The ongoing collation reflects a tightly contested race, as more results from the state’s 18 Local Government Areas are expected to be announced.
Both APC and PDP have been strong contenders, with supporters eagerly awaiting the outcome of the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier emphasized the importance of a transparent collation process and urged all stakeholders to remain calm as the official results are tallied and announced.
