Capacity Building: OHIS Organizes Retreat For New Board Members
Osun Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA), on Monday launched a comprehensive four-day induction and capacity building retreat for newly inaugurated board members and management staff of the agency.
The retreat, hosted at Royal Park Hotel in Iloko-Ijesha, Oriade Local Government area of Osun state, commenced on Monday with a ceremonial opening.
The event was inaugurated by the Commissioner of Health, Barr. Jola Akintola, representing Governor Ademola Adeleke, who emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration to overcome challenges in the agency.
Akintola stated, “After the training, we anticipate positive outcomes, equipping them to effectively fulfill their roles. Cooperation with management and administrative staff is essential for optimal efficiency and service delivery.”
Dr Abdulrasaq Akindele, the Executive Secretary of OSHIA, highlighted the significance of the workshop in building upon the agency’s achievements. He underlined the strides made in health insurance awareness and enrollment, emphasizing the need to reach and assist millions of uninsured individuals in Osun state.
Akindele disclosed, “Our digital transformation has streamlined operations, allowing enrollees to manage their health insurance seamlessly through a user-friendly mobile app.”
Dr Micheal Oyerinde, Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Primary Healthcare, applauded OSHIA’s progress and Osun state’s health system advancements, urging attendees to apply workshop insights in their daily duties.
“I encourage all participants to leverage this knowledge to elevate the impact and credibility of the agency,” Oyerinde remarked, emphasizing Osun’s potential to serve as a model for healthcare reform nationwide.
The retreat signifies OSHIA’s commitment to enhancing service quality and operational efficiency, fostering a stronger, more responsive health insurance system for the people of Osun state.
