OldGarage/Okefia/LAMECO Roundabout Construction: Osun Govt Issues Fresh Advisory on Road Closure/Diversion
The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Osun State has announced that from Friday 19th to Monday 22nd April, 2024, routes leading to LAMECO roundabout and Okefia would be temporarily closed, while it will be permanently closed to traffic as from the early hours of Tuesday 23rd April, 2024.
This is according to a statement informing the motorists and the general public, which was issued by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Bashir Bello.
The statement says from Tuesday 23rd April, motorists coming from Ilobu/Agunbelewo road enroute Jerrypaul/West Byepass would be diverted to a road beside LAIM hotels, Oroki Estate area, to their destination.
Road users from Ilobu/Agunbelewo road enroute stadium roundabout will take a diversion created just before Abe Igi Aanu relaxation centre, and would then burst out at NNPC Mega station and towards stadium.
It also said Motorists from Okefia enroute Capital area/Dada Estate are to divert at a road beside Osun State Property Development Authority, while those coming from Okefia enroute stadium will take inside the GRA and find their way.
Also, motorists coming from LAMECO Junction axis enroute dada estate will no longer get to Okefia roundabout before negotiating a new diversion route beside Government House Annex
to link the dada estate road as the Okefia roundabout will be blocked and motorists towards old garage will continue onwards.
Meanwhile, the ministry says traffic control officers such as the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Osun Traffic Marshals (OTRAM) will be stationed at strategic locations and junctions to direct motorists and road users.
The statement added that the inconveniences the blockade or diversion will cause motorists and other road users is highly regretted.
