‘No More Wike’, Youths Say After Destroying Statue Of FCT Minister In Rivers
Some youths in Rivers State have started pulling out statues of the immediate past Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The rampaging youths who besieged a Local Government Secretariat in the state on Tuesday, forcefully collapsed a statue of the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
It was gathered that the youths are some of the loyalists of incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara who were ensuring that the local government chairmen whose tenure had ended did not step into the council secretariats.
Some of the youths stormed the headquarters of Obino/Akpor Local Government Council of the state on Tuesday and removed a effigy of Wike which was built in his honour.
While the statue was being pulled down and smashed on the floor as the youths screamed “no more Wike in Rivers State” repeatedly.
