Just In: Two Abia Commissioners Resign
Two Commissioners have resigned from the Abia State Executive Council.
The Commissioners were earlier reported to be sacked but the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary in a statement said they resigned voluntarily.
Though no reason was given for the resignation, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Alex Otti, Mr Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, in a statement named the Commissioners to include, Mr Chima Oriaku, Science and Technology and Prof Monica Ironkwe, of Agriculture ministry.
According to him, “The following Cabinet Members of Abia State Government have tendered their resignation letters to the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti.
“They are: Mr. Chima Oriaku – Commissioner for Science and Technology. Prof. Monica Ironkwe – Commissioner for Agriculture.
“The Executive Governor thanked them for their service and sacrifice to the State and wish them well in their future endeavours”.
Before now, the Commissioner for Health Dr Ngozi Okoronkwo, was suspended to make way for an investigation of her activities.
