Oyo Police Parade Ex-PMS Boss, Auxiliary, Over Alleged Armed Robbery, Murder
The Oyo Police Command on Thursday paraded the arrested former Chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System (PMS), Lamidi Mukaila popularly called Auxiliary, over alleged sundry criminal offences including murder of one Rahmon about three years ago
The Command had about a month ago declared Auxiliary wanted over his alleged involvement in armed robbery, kidnapping and murder cases in Oyo State.
This was sequel to the ransacking of his houses in Ibadan by men of the Department of State Services (DSS) where series of arms and ammunition were reportedly recovered.
He was last week Tuesday arrested around 4:00 pm at his residence in Olodo area of Ibadan and whisked away before being handed over to the Police for prosecution.
Speaking with newsmen at the Command headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, where the parade took place, the Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, said the suspect will be charged to court for offences he had allegedly committed.
According to him, exhibits recovered in his possession at his Diamond Hotel residence around Alakia-Isebo Egbeda under Egbeda Local Government Area at the time included: one AK-47 Riffle; our (4) AK-47 magazines; Eighty four (84) live AK-47 Ammunition; Nineteen (19) Pump Action riffles; one Barreta Pistol; Seven cut-to-size gun; one English-made barrel gun.
“Others included: Seven Hundred and Twenty Four (724) live cartridges; 25 cutlasses; Seven Jack knives; thirty three (33) mobile phones; one Samsung Laptop; Charms; One Mazda Bus; One Toyota Sienna; Cash sum of Three Million, Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira, (N3,450,000.00).”.
The Police Commissioner added that “discreet intelligence-led search commenced for the sacked PMS chieftain with the help of technology, collaborative efforts with Sister Services and Community Policing, wherein many locations were identified, traced and combed for months until his recent arrest in a concerted effort with our sister services.
“Moving forward, the suspect would be charged to court for offences committed. While the command is thanking the public for providing credible information to curb crime, it has become imperative to affirm to the general public about our resolve to deal decisively with any criminally-motivated individual or group who intends to flip the State retrogressively into the historical dark ages of the “Wild West. If you see something, say something and the Police will immediately do something,” he said.
