Group Provides Free Medical Treatment To 1,000 Osun Residents

No fewer than 1,000 residents of Osogbo, Osun state capital benefited from a free medical outreach which includes distribution of free drugs.
The free medical outreach organized by a Non-profit and Non-governmental organization, Positive Thinkers For Transformation and Initiatives Nigeria in collaboration with Center For Life Enhanced Community Development CLECD, recorded over 1,000 persons who received free treatment.
Activities at the outreach which had the residents of Lajomon Estate Olude Area of Osogbo, Osun State as beneficiaries included free test for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Diabetes, HIV, Tuberculosis among others as well as distribution of free drugs.
Speaking at the outreach on Thursday, the National President of Positive Thinkers Initiatives, Dr. Rahuf Kolawole stated that the objective of the organization is commitment to serve humanity and betterment of the society.
Dr. Kolawole emphasized that their focus is on what they can do to improve the lives of others and aiming to provide much-needed medical assistance to those who may not have the resources to afford it.
He said that the organization has offered 500 free operations for individuals facing various health challenges.
According to him “This medical outreach is a service to humanity and betterment of the people, essence of life is to serve and make a positive impact on humanity.
“We believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of their financial situation, our goal is to make a difference in the lives of others and leave a lasting legacy of kindness and compassion.
Earlier, the Secretary General of Positive Thinkers, Dr. Kayode Oguniyi, described the organization as an organization that seeks the common welfare of the people.
He said: “Our aim is to support the present government in determining the health status of interested individuals as a means to achieving good health.
“I want to enjoin everyone to seize this opportunity to pursue optimal health, we aim to address this issue in the best way we can and offer advice to bring succor to the nation’s problems.
“What we are doing today is to help people know their health status and take necessary steps to achieve optimal health. We have reached out to over 3000 residents from different towns in Osun State, such as Ede, Ejigbo, Iree, Ara, Osogbo, and others, in the past. We have also performed 500 operations before the one we are doing today.” He said.
The CEO CLECD, Mrs Ogunrinde Funmilayo advised the beneficiaries to do regular health check-ups, screenings, and self-examinations so that it can help them detect potential health issues early and allowing for timely intervention and treatment.
She said: “Being mindful of ones health is just as important as physical health, practice self-care by taking in maximum attention to your health.
Also speaking the Olola of Ola Land, Oba Johnson Oyewale appreciated the organizers of the outreach, saying that it will help people to know the status of their health.
He also called on well meaning Nigerians to emulate the good gesture by reaching out to the less privileged who may need them in one way or the others
Meanwhile, some of the beneficiaries who spoke to our Correspondent appreciated the organizers, just as they prayed almighty God to reward them abundantly.
