12-Year-Old Student Who Reportedly Predicted Her Death Slumps, Dies During School Hours
A 12-year-old female student of St. Louis Girls’ Grammar School, Akure, Ondo State, Boluwatife Oladipo, has reportedly slumped and died.
The unfortunate incident occured after the JSS 3 student had reportedly predicted her own death.
According to Ondo State owned newspaper, the student had reportedly fainted last Tuesday shortly after saying she wanted to die.
Eyewitness accounts stated that the young girl was playing with her classmates at school when she began making unusual remarks, saying she felt as though she was about to die.
It was further gathered that the deceased told her friends she had urged her mother to have more children, but her plea had been ignored.
Moments later, the girl reportedly collapsed and was first rushed to the school clinic, where first aid treatment was administered before she was later taken to the University Medical Teaching Hospital (UNIMETH) in Akure, where she was confirmed dead on arrival.
A teacher at the school told the reporter that it was ‘obvious the deceased girl knew she would die,’ based on her actions prior to the incident.
“Last Tuesday, classes were ongoing in the school when we were alerted that a JSS 3 student had fainted. We quickly rushed to attend to her,” the teacher said.
“We learned that the girl was playing with her friends outside the classroom. When the bell rang for the next class, which was Mathematics, they all ran inside
“After they got into the classroom and the Mathematics teacher arrived, she put her head on the desk.
“Her concerned classmates went to her and tapped her, telling her that the teacher was already in the classroom.”
It was gathered that upon getting to her, she raised her head and told her friends she wanted to die.
The students alerted the teacher, who rushed to her seat.
According to the source, by the time the teacher reached her, she reiterated, “I want to die.”
“The teacher had to call on other teachers, and the girl was rushed to the school clinic. She was said to have kept saying she wanted to die.
“Thereafter, she was rushed to UNIMEDTH. Upon arrival at the state hospital, the doctor on duty who attended to her observed her and noted that she was ‘paper white’ (she had a shortage of blood).
“Immediately, she was placed on a blood transfusion. During the process, she tragically passed away.”
The source told the publication that while some teachers from the school visited the girl’s home, her mother made some revelations.
“The mother of the girl told them that it took her years to give birth to her, and she was the first child,” a teacher said.
The girl had reportedly been pressuring her mother to have another child.
“The mother said that on the fateful morning, she told her father that she would be travelling abroad for her Senior Secondary School education. She then hugged her dad and waved goodbye to her mother,”
It was also reported that the mother disclosed that in the early hours of the day, she saw a figure resembling a ghost walk past in the house.
She informed her husband, and they prayed together over.
