AUTISM: Oluwo Commends Matermental, Gateway Dental For Free Medical Outreach In Iwoland.

The Paramount Ruler of Iwoland,His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has commended Matermental Foundation and Gateway Dental for staging a free medical outreach for autistic children in Iwo, Osun State.

Oba Akanbi described dental health and personal hygiene as necessary to effectively manage the medical welfare of children with special needs.

Oluwo made the commendation yesterday at a 2-day dental health and personal hygiene held for the children living with autism and special needs schooling at the school for special needs children, Iwo , Osun State. It was organized by Matermental in collaboration with Gateway Dental care under the watch of Dr. Folorunso Adeola and Ogunsakin Oluwafemi respectively to improve the dental health of the children.

The organizers related their interest to the prevalent cases of the neurological disorder and it’s cause is yet to be known. Apparently, this disorder is now prevalent among children all over the world.

“Autism is a neurological disorder whose cause is yet to be known. It’s on the rise in the USA where I have been for about 13 years and it will soon become a tsunami if it’s not well addressed” Dr. Adeola Folorunso posited.

“Autistic and children with special needs are integral part of the society. They have been neglected. Only a few are integrating them back to the society. I specially commend Dr. Folorunso Adeola for staging such a life imparting program in Iwo”

“I’ve strong hope these children will remember today and reciprocate the same in the future. I can see the happiness and enthusiasm in them. God will replicate such happiness in the lives of the promoters ”

“I call on individuals with financial wherewithal to incorporate these children into the society by extending philanthropic gestures to them. We can all be better if those who are better off remember others”.

Dr Folorunso Adeola on behalf of his NGO brand donated the sum of #50,000, toothpastes, toothbrushes, hand washes liquid soap and other oral hygiene products to the school to enhance their wellness. The statement concluded.

Oluwafemi Ogunsakin who led his dental care team to the outreach noted that “these category of children do not feel comfortable while brushing. They resist toothbrushing and that’s why their dental hygiene is mostly poor. Hence, they are more prone to various dental diseases which could also impact their general wellbeing”.
