National Stadium, Others In Darkness At Abuja
Emergency outage has thrown the National Stadium, Trademore Estate, Sunny Vale, and Kabusa Gardens in Abuja into darkness.
Other affected areas include TSF Eye Clinic, AMMSCO Estate, SunCity, part of Kabusa, Durumi American School, Sabo Lugbe, Pyakasa, Aleita/Chika and Ako Estate.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed the development in a post on its X on Wednesday.
The post was titled: “Emergency outage on a 60 MVA transformers at Kukwaba 132/33KV Transmission substation.”
The post read: “The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the Public that one of its 60MVA power transformers at Kukwaba Substation was opened on emergency due to smoke observed from the 60MVA transformer at 09:08pm of Sunday the 9th of June, 2024.
“Three 33kV feeders were affected, causing power interruption at Galadimawa, Games village, National stadium, Sunny Vale, Kabusa Gardens, TSF Eye Clinic, AMMSCO Estate, SunCity, part of Kabusa, Durumi American School, Sabo Lugbe, Trademore Estate, Pyakasa, Aleita/ Chika and Ako Estate.
“Power supply will soon be restored as TCN Engineers are working at rectifying the fault. We regret any inconvenience this has caused electricity consumers in the affected areas.”
