The Chairman of Skymark Energy and Power Ltd, Alhaji Muhammad Saleh Hassan, has expressed deep sorrow and his condolences to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited ( NNPCL), Mallam Mele Kyari, over the tragic loss of his daughter, Fatima.
Kyari has been steering the wheels of the nation’s oil giant in the right direction as the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC since 1999 until he became the first GCEO of the oil conglomerate in 2021.
Fatima died on Friday at the age of 25 after a protracted illness.
Her demise has spurred several reactions and condolences from
notable Nigerians, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari as well as families, friends and other well wishers.
In a message on Saturday, Hassan described the passing of Kyari’s daughter as a monumental loss, not only to the family but also to those who cherished her as well as Nigerians, following her father’s laudable contributions to national development, particularly the energy sector.
The Skymark Energy who noted that no amount of words were enough to console Kyari and his family over the girl’s demise, however urged them to take solace in God’s loving kindness towards them in other areas.
Hassan, who however, stressed that his thoughts were with Kyari and his family at this painful moment, prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
“At this painful moment, my mind and prayers go to the entire family of Mallam Mele Kyari, the indefatigable pace setter in the country’s energy sector.
On behalf of my family, I pray that the Almighty Allah grants your beloved daughter, Fatima, eternal rest and gives the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Hassan said.
He also prayed for God’s mercy, protection, peace and comfort for the bereaved family.
