-Blasts Detractors
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun state, Honourable Rotimi Makinde has urged Nigerians to be patient to overcome the prevailing economic challenges in the country.
Makinde who said the discomfort that citizens currently face was as a result of what has been on ground over the years by each handlers.
He assured Nigerians that with the bold step being taken by the president, the phase would soon become a thing of the past.
He made these known in a statement he smade available to journalists in Osogbo, on Friday.
Makinde, however blasted those who he described as detractors, who are hellbent in disparaging the president,
appealing to the people calling for the protests to be more patient, saying Asiwaju meant well for the country.
The Ile-Ife born political mobilizer, who was one of the first set of people in south West to root for Tinubu’s candidacy under the platform of South
West Agenda SWAGA, even before Asiwaju openly declared his intension to run said, anyone who truly worked for the success of Asiwaju would never wish him to fail.
He said: “The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach – waiting for a gift from the sea..
“If you were one of us who set out and went round the country as far back as 2020 to canvas for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president as we did under the platform of South West Agenda SWAGA 23. We did without collecting a dime from him or any of his associates with seriousness and focus.
“We took the risk and visited more than 300 palaces and got as many endorsement as we could, which include that of Ooni of Ife, Late Alaafin of Oyo, Olubadan, Soun of Ogbomoso, Deji of Akure, Alake of Egbaland, Afenifere and many others .
“We actually visited so many states and territories.
“Therefore, If you were one of those personalities with foresight and determination that passed through those pains of political movement since 2020 and were involved in the collation of people’s anxieties .You will not wish BAT to fail.
“Considering the experience of many of us and the so far so bad of our country’s situation over the years by each handlers, you will be one of those people who will maintain the peace not be in a hurry, patient and given support with good advice and the benefit of doubt to the leadership of the present government. Only in that we can succeed and not in castigation and playing to the gallery.
“…..Check it out, those leading the present protest here and there and those joining the Amber’s cannot be said to be true friends of the principal, or affectionate and loyal from day one..
“Our nose is naturally wicked. We sometimes do not smell or know real affectionate ones.
“Our society is infested with idiots who try to impress by using pretentious jargon. Instead of sounding pretentious, phony, or repetitive, the swaga team would rather not speak but join in building the nation ….” he concluded.
