Faoziah Oluokun Inaugurated As 6th Chairman Of Oyo ICSAN

A historic moment unfolded over the weekend as Alhaja Faoziah Oluokun was inaugurated as the 6th Chairman and the first female leader of the Oyo State chapter of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAN).

The investiture ceremony, held at Ighodalo Hall in Agbowo, Ibadan, was well attended and marked the official induction of Oluokun and her newly appointed executive committee members.

The event also featured the presentation of awards to distinguished individuals, including the ICSAN Presidentand Chairman, Governing Council, Mrs. Funmilayo Ekundayo, and Vice President, Mrs. Uto Ukpanah.

The new executive committee includes, Vice Chairman, Mrs. Jennifer Otu, Public Relations Officer, Dr. Bolaji Gbengbeleku; General Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Alo, Treasurer, Mrs. Olubukola Jenfa, Financial Secretary, Dr. Francis Obisesan, Assistant Secretary, Mr. Lukman Lasisi and Immediate Past Chairman, Mr. Samson Ilori.

Recognised for their contributions, award recipients at the ceremony included Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barrister Adebayo Lawal; Senator Sharafadeen Alli; Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni; a former Head of Service, Alhaja Amidat Agboola, Chief Bayo Oyero, and honorary Treasurer, Mr. Francis Olawale.

In his address, the Guest Speaker, Mr. Francis Olawale, who addressed the gathering on the theme: “Governance and Transformational Leadership,”
emphasised the critical role of leaders in providing direction and inspiration.

He urged those in leadership positions to prioritize the interests of their constituents to foster transformation and success.

In their goodwill messages, both Mrs. Ekundayo and Mrs. Ukpanah encouraged the new executive committee to collaborate effectively to elevate the institute.

Ekundayo pointed out the importance of raising awareness about ICSAN’s professional education and certification, while urging the leadership to engage members actively in governance and policy implementation.

In her investiture address, Alhaja Faoziah Oluokun who will serve a two-year term, expressed gratitude to the ICSAN Governing Council for their structured succession policy, which facilitated her rise to chairman.

She committed to a visionary leadership approach, aiming to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Her focus for the term, encapsulated in the theme “Good and Impactful Performance,” includes strengthening member engagement and revitalizing the chapter.

Oluokun outlined her plans to expand the chapter’s membership and forge strategic partnerships with other professional bodies and educational institutions to enhance the chapter’s influence and opportunities.

In a valedictory speech, outgone chairman, Mr. Samson Ilori, reflected on his tenure as eventful and rewarding, highlighting initiatives such as public lectures and outreach programmes designed to engage and mobilise members.

He expressed confidence in Oluokun’s ability to build upon the foundations laid during his leadership and wished her a successful term.
