Ramadan: Sultan Declares Wednesday 10th April As Sallah Day
-As New Crescent Was Not Sighted
The Sultan of Sokoto and President General Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared Wednesday to be the Eid-El-Fitr day.
The Sultan who stated that in a Press Release issued and made available to CityMirrorNews at his palace on Monday evening also said that the Sultanate Council moon sighting committee and national moon sighting committee did not receive report from any quarter across the country confirming the sighting of the new moon .
” The Sultanate Council Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs in conjunction with the national moon sighting committee did not receive any report from various moon sighting committees across the country confirming the sighting of of the new moon of Shawwal 1445.
The statement said the Ramadan fasting will continue on Tuesday being the 30 day of Ramadan 1445 AH which is equivalent to 9th of April 2024.
“Therefore, Wednesday 10th April 2024 will be the ed-dil-fitr day and 1st day of Shawwal 1445 AH” the statement stated.
The statement further said the Sultan has accepted the report and accordingly declared Wednesday 10 April 2024 as the first day of Shawal 1445 AH.
Sultan Sa’ad called on Muslims to continue to pray for peace, progress and development of the country.
He also facilitates with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wishes them Allah’s guidance and blessings.
