-Gears Up For Upcoming Elections
The LPObidient movement in Oyo State, led by Mr. Ayo Akinyemi, has expressed appreciation to His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, His Excellency Gov. Alex Otti of Abia State, and all Labour Party (LP) members of the National Assembly for their critical role in resolving the recent leadership challenges within the party.
Recall that the recent NEC/Expanded Stakeholders meeting successfully appointed a Caretaker Committee to oversee the national affairs of the Labour Party and to organize a national convention in the near future.
A Press Statement issued by the movement Coordinator in Oyo State, Mr Ayo Akinyemi, extended his appreciation to the members of the newly formed LP Caretaker Committee, chaired by Senator Nnenadi Usman, with Senator Darlington Nwokeocha serving as Secretary.
The statement noted that their commitments to reorganising the Labour Party nationwide is vital for the party’s future success.
“This decisive action has addressed the instability affecting the party and sets a positive course for its revitalization.
“The LPObidient movement in Oyo State is committed to fully cooperating with the new leadership,” he said.
Akinyemi, however, called on all Obidients across the 33 local government areas in Oyo State who are not yet card-carrying members of the LP to take the necessary steps to formalise their membership.
He also thanked all LPObidient members for their perseverance during the recent turbulent times.
“Your dedication has been invaluable, and we must now unite our efforts to secure all elective offices in Oyo State in upcoming elections,” he stated.
Looking ahead, Akinyemi emphasised the importance of the forthcoming by-election for the Ibadan North House of Representatives seat, where Dr. Femi Dexter Akin-Alamu will be contesting.
He encouraged all members to rally together in support of Dr. Akin-Alamu to ensure a significant victory for the Labour Party.
Akinyemi also urged all members to remain focused and united as they prepare for a bright future for the Labour Party in Oyo State.
