Protest In Nigeria: Long Overdue - Fadojoe

By Our Reporter

Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a former presidential aspirant in the Labour Party (LP) and leader of the Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, has expressed concerns about the LP’s ability to reorganize and win the next election. He believes that the party’s internal divisions and lack of leadership are major obstacles to its success.

Faduri faulted the recent stakeholders meeting convened by Abia State Governor Otti, describing it as an “obedient meeting” that lacked inclusivity and constitutional authority. He questioned the absence of outgoing leadership from both factions and the failure to invite other stakeholders, including himself, who contested with Peter Obi.

Faduri emphasized the need for genuine leadership and inclusivity in addressing the party’s internal crises. He criticized Peter Obi for not taking decisive action to reconcile the differences between Abure and Apapa, allowing the party to become fragmented.

He urged the party to get its house in order, warning that internal cracks would only embolden the opposition. Faduri concluded by expressing his desire to see the LP move forward, but emphasized the need for a unified and inclusive approach.
